Save Santa!
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
This game was created in 7 days for my first Game Jam entry. Brackeys Jam 2020.1
๐ ๐คถ
This is a goofy cartoon elf game where you play as 3 different elves with individual abilities.
In a quest to Save Santa!
Santa was texting and driving and hit a mountainside. ๐ป๐๏ธ
His sleigh pieces scattered all over the North Pole. ๐ท
He is counting on 3 mighty Elves to help him retrieve these pieces before Christmas is ruined!! ๐โ๏ธ
These unique elves are the only ones that can pull off the job,
But they're trapped behind a gate. . . ๐
In order to find Santa you need to escape first,
Each elf must unlock their door and they can't do it alone!
Communicate between each other and look for hidden password and puzzles.
Find Santa, Repair the Sleigh, and Save Christmas! ๐น๏ธ๐

my brotha. Last night I played ur game. I have to admit that it is amazing to see everything u were able to accomplish in a week. It's a complete game that u can ship to steam on December.
I need to also highlight that the game need to be cleaned up cuz it is a bit heavy (at least for my computer); for this I recommend to set all those object with any rendering that doesn't move or object with collider that doesn't move to be STATIC, it will run faster on the build; also make sure that those objects that move in the scene has a righthood so in those have to compute the physics word in every interaction.
The character controller feels a bit unresponsive in the way that in doesn't stop the player from walking instantly once I release the key arrow buttons because the player seems to deaccelerate slowly.
Would be nice to see the popup message of the NPCs to face the camera once they are activated.
I like the challenges u implemented because me as a designer like to deconstruct games but clients might get burned out because of how sudden the difficulty increase. For example the parkour challenge of the first elf, I was able to make it to the end but oh boy, u got no idea how many times I die XD. just make sure to implement IPM(introduction practice and mastery for every core mechanic) and you'll be fine XD
I can keep righting but I rather wait to see an update and try it out :) and to give u more feedback.
Great day!
ayyyyyyyy thank you for the helpful criticism my friend I love how in depth you went. Thanks for the tips on changing immobile objects to static! Any other performance tips you have for me would be appreciated. I know I need to bake more lighting and reduce shadow casters but I will do this in a future update :) thanks again for the tips you'll see this and more in the future!!! Thanks for playing my first game jam!
